You can't go to Australia and not see a kangaroo, right!? Well we saw hundreds! It just saw happened most of them were napping on the side of the road…

But waking up at sunrise in Cape Hillsborough, we were greeted on the beach by a dozen (live!) wallabies and kangaroos having breakfast. Hailey could have watched them for hours.

Later that day, Danny insisted on grilling up some kangaroo patties. Ends up they are cute and tasty!

Next stop, The Whitsundays.

We jumped into our Apollo camper van and headed for what might have been our favorite in Australia! The views of the Great Barrier Reef from the air were incredible.

Leaving Ollie behind, we flew over Whitsundays Island…

After the plane ride, we went snorkeling and relaxed on the white sand beaches of Whitehaven Beach. We could have stayed there all day, but it was time to get back to the mainland and reunite with Ollie.

As we made our way south along the Bruce Highway, we stopped at one of the many fruit stands. We found the perfect pineapple!

We stayed a night in a small town called Seventeen Seventy near Agnes Waters. The Paperbark Forest Walk was a magical trail we had all to ourselves. It also happen to be the shortest hike of all time. I think it took us 10 minutes to hike the loop!
