Singapore
Flying from Sri Lanka to Australia, we had a strategically planned, long layover in Singapore. Our entire stay was only about 36 hours, but we made the most of it!
We spent the day walking around Arab Street, Chinatown, and downtown.
Singapore is extravagant and one of the cleanest cities we've ever stepped foot in! It was very different from Sri Lanka, but it also lacked some history and culture we enjoy when visiting new places. Our favorite part was how lush and green the city was. There were live plant walls on almost every building!
This theme continued near the water when we visited Gardens by the Bay.
And the Cloud Forest.
We over did it with curry in Sri Lanka, so we were happy with all the options we had in Singapore. Our favorite meal was chicken and rice at a Hawker center in Chinatown. It is the cheapest Michelin-Star meal in the world for only $1.50. The line was 45 minutes long and the food was served on a styrofoam plate. Not sure if it lived up to it's Michelin star, but it was still tasty!
