Bali, Indonesia
Hailey had been to Bali before, so she knew how to spend her time... beach clubs, spa days, temple visits, great meals, rice terraces...
Danny on the other hand had only one thing on his mind... Scooters! We rented scooters from a local shop owner and before you knew it, Danny was passing cars and beeping at anything in sight. All with Hailey on the back (sorry, Mom and Dad). We used the scooter to explore a few different towns on Bali.
First up was the surf town of Canggu. You can't get any younger, trendier, or hipper than the area of Canggu!
Organic cafes with acai bowls, avocado toast, and smoothies. One coffee shop after the next with boho furniture and plants hanging from every corner of the ceiling. Young people cruising by on scooters headed to the beach with their surfboards.
It's a laid back lifestyle like we've never seen before and we could definitely get used to it!
Ubud is all about the Eat. Pray. Love. life. It's a total Yogi town and although it was a little too touristy for us, we still found some awesome spots to explore.
One of the highlights from Ubud was Sandat Glamping Camp. It was just outside of town and provided a nice place to come back to after exploring the island. Don't be fooled by the name, it was a few steps above glamping.
Nusa Penida is an island off the mainland, which is becoming more and more popular. We rented a scooter to get around and visited some of the most breathtaking places we've ever seen: Angel's Billabong, Broken Beach, Kelingling Beach, Manta Bay, Thousand Islands, and an underground temple.
We also went snorkeling and swam with manta rays in Nusa Penida. It was a pretty awesome experience and some of the best snorkeling we've ever done, we even saw a water snake, which Danny can't stop talking about!
